Two days of Premiere Pro for beginners. Cut a two-minute film from supplied rushes, add titles and captions, mix the sound and export for the web.

• Set up a Premiere Pro project with bins, scratch disks and a naming convention that still makes sense months later
• Ingest footage and create proxies so that large files edit smoothly on a laptop
• Choose sequence settings that match your footage, and understand frame rate and resolution well enough to explain them
• Build a rough assembly from rushes using the source monitor and three-point editing
• Trim with ripple, roll, slip and slide, and know which of the four each situation needs
• Pace an interview using J cuts and L cuts, markers and sub-clips
