Questions people ask before they book

School-wide answers on booking, money, attendance and certificates. Course-specific questions are answered on each course page.

Booking a place

How do I book? Choose a course, pick a date and a delivery mode, and pay online. You receive a confirmation email straight away and joining instructions with the exercise files and setup notes before the class. If you need an invoice first, use the corporate enquiry route instead and we will hold the seat while the invoice is processed.

When is a date confirmed? Public dates run once they reach their minimum enrolment. If a date will not run we tell you at least five business days before the start and you choose a full refund or a free transfer to another date. We never quietly merge you into a different class.

How do I know which level to book? Read the prerequisites and the curriculum on the course page. If you can already do everything in the Level 1 curriculum without looking it up, book Level 2. If you are not sure, send us a description of the work you need to produce and we will tell you which course covers it, including when the honest answer is that you do not need a course at all.

Can I book for someone else? Yes. Enter the learner's name and email as the attendee and your own details for billing. Joining instructions go to the learner.

Payment, currency and invoicing

Which currency will I be charged in? Learners and organisations in Sri Lanka are charged in LKR. Everyone else is charged in USD. The currency is set by your billing country at checkout and is shown before you pay.

What payment methods do you accept? Card payment online for both currencies, and local bank transfer for LKR bookings. Corporate bookings can be paid against an invoice.

Are taxes included? Sri Lankan taxes are applied at the rate in force on the invoice date and are shown as a separate line on your invoice. USD prices are exclusive of any taxes or duties payable in your own country.

Can my employer be invoiced? Yes. Send us the billing entity, the purchase order number if you use one, and the names and emails of the learners. We issue the invoice, hold the seats and send joining instructions to each learner. Invoices are due within fourteen days of the invoice date and in any case before the course starts, unless we have agreed different terms in writing.

Do you offer group rates? Five or more people from one organisation on the same course are usually better served by a private cohort, which is priced per group rather than per seat and can be taught on your own files. Use the corporate quote form.

Changing or cancelling a booking

Can I move to a different date? Yes. With ten or more business days' notice before the start date, one transfer is free. Inside ten business days you may still transfer once on payment of a transfer fee of twenty per cent of the fee paid.

Can I send a colleague instead? Yes, at no charge, at any time before the class starts. Send us the replacement learner's name and email.

Can I cancel and get my money back? Cancel with ten or more business days' notice and you receive a full refund, less any payment processing charge we have actually incurred. Inside ten business days the fee is not refundable, but you can transfer or substitute as above. Self-paced courses can be refunded within fourteen days of purchase if less than twenty per cent of the content has been accessed.

What if I miss a day? The recording of every session is available to you for twelve months. If you would rather sit the day live again, every live booking includes one free retake of the same course within six months, subject to a free seat on the date you choose.

What if you cancel? If we cancel or reschedule a course for any reason, including not reaching the minimum enrolment, you choose a full refund or a free transfer. We are not able to reimburse travel or accommodation, so please book flexible travel.

In class

Do I need my own laptop? For live online classes, yes. For classroom sessions in Colombo we also recommend your own machine, so that your presets, fonts, licences and files stay with you afterwards. If you cannot bring one, tell us when you book and we will confirm what is available for your date.

What should I bring? A laptop with the software installed and tested, headphones for online sessions, a mouse or tablet if you prefer one to a trackpad, and any files from your own work that you want to use in the exercises. A second screen makes online classes considerably easier, though it is not required.

Is the software licence included? No. Course fees cover training, not software. For Adobe courses you need a working Creative Cloud licence, your own or your employer's, or Adobe's free trial started close to the class date. For AI courses, some tools have a free tier that is enough for the exercises and others need a paid plan; each course page states what is needed. We send setup instructions and run a pre-class setup check.

Mac or Windows? Either. Instructors call out shortcuts for both, and workbooks list Mac and Windows keys side by side. Work on the machine you use every day.

What are the hours? Class times and time zone are shown on each date. Live online classes are scheduled for Sri Lanka time unless the date says otherwise, and there are breaks in every session.

What language are classes taught in? English. Instructors in Colombo can explain in Sinhala or Tamil where that helps a learner, and materials are in English.

Certificates and certification

Do you issue a certificate? Yes. Learners who attend receive a MyLearnPlus certificate of completion showing the course title, the hours and the date. It is a record of training.

Is that an Adobe certification? No. Adobe Certified Professional is a separate certification delivered through Certiport, and it currently covers Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere Pro, After Effects, Animate, Dreamweaver, Acrobat Pro, Adobe Express and Adobe Firefly. Specialty Credentials in Visual Design, Video Design, Web Design and Marketing Design are awarded when two related professional certifications are completed. Our courses prepare you for those exams; they do not award them.

Is the exam voucher included? No. Vouchers are bought separately and the exam is sat at a Certiport testing centre or through their approved online delivery. We can tell you what the current process looks like when you ask.

Will I pass the exam after this course? We cannot promise that, and no training provider honestly can. What we can say is that the course is written against the published exam objectives and includes practice questions in the same style, so you go in familiar with the interface and the vocabulary the exam uses.

Access, accessibility and your data

How long do I keep the materials? Recordings and self-paced content are available for twelve months from the class date or purchase date. Workbooks, exercise files and finished sample projects are yours to keep permanently.

I have an access requirement. What can you do? Tell us when you book, or email [email protected] at least five business days before the class. We can provide materials in advance, larger type in workbooks, captions on recordings, extra breaks, a recording of a session you cannot attend live, and room adjustments for classroom dates. Our accessibility statement sets out our WCAG 2.2 AA commitment and how to report a barrier on the website.

Are classes recorded, and am I on the recording? Live sessions are recorded so that learners can review them. Recordings capture the instructor's screen and audio. Keep your camera off if you prefer not to appear, and tell the instructor if you would rather your questions were not included.

What do you do with my personal data? We use it to deliver the course you booked, to invoice you and to meet our legal obligations. We do not sell it. Our privacy policy explains what is collected, how long it is kept and how to exercise your rights under the GDPR and the Sri Lanka Personal Data Protection Act.
