About this course

Beginner 1 day · 6 hours PowerPoint and Excel for Microsoft 365, or Google Slides and Goo

One day rebuilding a deck: headlines that state the finding, a reusable slide master, the right chart for the question and colour that survives a projector.

What you'll be able to do

  • State the point of a deck in one sentence and build the slide order that supports it.
  • Rewrite every headline so it states the finding rather than naming the topic.
  • Cut a crowded slide down to a single idea and decide deliberately where the detail goes.
  • Set up a slide master and theme with a type scale, colour palette and grid that the next deck can reuse.
  • Choose the right chart for the question being asked: comparison, composition, change over time, distribution or relationship.
  • Build a chart in Excel or Google Sheets, including getting the data into the shape the chart needs.

What's included

  • Class recording, available for 12 months
  • Exercise pack: the quarterly report deck to rebuild and a spreadsheet of sample data
  • Course workbook covering every step demonstrated in class
  • Chart selection guide and a slide review checklist you can use on the next deck
  • Slide master template with a type scale and an accessible colour palette, for PowerPoint and Google Slides
  • MyLearnPlus certificate of completion
  • Instructor email support after the class for questions on the exercises
