What you'll be able to do
- Set up a Premiere Pro project with bins, scratch disks and a naming convention that still makes sense months later
- Ingest footage and create proxies so that large files edit smoothly on a laptop
- Choose sequence settings that match your footage, and understand frame rate and resolution well enough to explain them
- Build a rough assembly from rushes using the source monitor and three-point editing
- Trim with ripple, roll, slip and slide, and know which of the four each situation needs
- Pace an interview using J cuts and L cuts, markers and sub-clips
