What you'll be able to do

  • Explain in plain terms how an assistant produces an answer, and why it can state a fact that is not true.
  • Choose between ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Microsoft Copilot for a given piece of work.
  • Write a prompt with a clear task, context, output format and constraints instead of a one-line question.
  • Give an assistant your own document, notes or spreadsheet and get an answer grounded in it.
  • Correct a weak answer through iteration rather than starting the prompt again from nothing.
  • Draft and rewrite routine business writing: an email, a proposal section, a job advert, a policy note.
