AI Video and Audio Production

Two days for editors and content teams putting AI tools into a real video workflow

About this course

The demonstrations are five seconds long and beautifully lit. The job is a forty minute interview recorded in a room with an air conditioner, a corporate cut that needs two shots nobody filmed, captions in three languages and a delivery deadline. This course puts AI tools where they earn their place in that job, and is equally clear about where they still waste your afternoon.

Day one is speech, which is where the reliable gains are. You transcribe difficult audio and assess the result honestly, including how these systems handle accents and Sri Lankan English, then cut a rough assembly straight from the transcript using text-based editing in Premiere Pro. You strip filler words and dead air without destroying the rhythm of someone's speech, and you generate, correct, style and burn in captions properly rather than accepting whatever the platform produces. The afternoon is audio repair and voice: recovering a badly recorded interview with speech enhancement and noise reduction, hitting loudness targets for broadcast, YouTube and social, generating a synthetic voice-over and working through the consent and disclosure rules that go with one. You test dubbing into Sinhala and Tamil and judge for yourself whether the current output is usable, since coverage of these languages lags well behind the major European ones.

Day two is generative video. You learn what a current model can and cannot hold steady across a shot, prompt for a specific frame by describing subject, camera move, lens, lighting and duration, extend a shot that is two seconds short using Generative Extend in Premiere Pro, and drive a shot from a still you art-directed yourself rather than from a text prompt alone. Cost and render time are treated as production facts: you budget a generated sequence with real numbers from the tools in front of you, because credits and render queues decide what is possible on a deadline.

The final afternoon is the hard part, which is making generated material sit next to filmed material without announcing itself. You match grain, colour, frame rate and motion, use AI-assisted rotoscoping, masking and object removal, and then cut a finished piece of sixty to ninety seconds that mixes filmed and generated shots. You finish with the Content Credentials attached to generated media, the disclosure rules the major platforms now apply to synthetic video and voice, and an export, archive and handover the client can act on.

Tools in this field change month to month, so the course teaches the judgement rather than a fixed button sequence: what to test, what to check before delivery and what to refuse. The class runs live online or in the classroom in Colombo, priced in LKR for Sri Lanka and in USD internationally.

What you'll be able to do

  • Judge the accuracy of an automatic transcript, including with accented and Sri Lankan English speech.
  • Cut a rough assembly from a transcript using text-based editing in Premiere Pro.
  • Remove filler words and dead air without breaking the natural rhythm of a speaker.
  • Produce captions and subtitles that are corrected, styled and burnt in to a set specification.
  • Recover a badly recorded interview using speech enhancement and noise reduction.
  • Meet loudness and level targets for broadcast, YouTube and vertical social delivery.
  • Generate a synthetic voice-over and apply the consent and disclosure rules that go with it.
  • Prompt a generated shot by subject, camera move, lens, lighting and duration, and budget its cost.
  • Match generated shots to filmed footage for grain, colour, frame rate and motion.
  • Deliver a finished 60 to 90 second cut mixing filmed and generated shots, with a handover note.

Who it is for

  • Video editors and content producers under pressure to deliver more cuts from the same shoot
  • Corporate communications and internal video teams handling interviews and long-form talks
  • Social media and marketing staff cutting vertical video and captioned clips every week
  • Podcast and audio producers dealing with imperfect recordings and multiple languages
  • Agency and production staff pricing AI-assisted video work and explaining it to clients

What you need first

  • You should be comfortable editing already: importing media, cutting on a timeline and exporting. Premiere Pro Level 1 or equivalent experience in another editor is enough.
  • No experience with AI video or audio tools is needed.
  • Bring headphones and, if you have one, a piece of your own difficult audio or footage to work on.

Who teaches it

MyLearnPlus AI Faculty

Working practitioners teaching the AI and generative AI track

The AI track is taught by people who use these tools in paid work every week: prompt and workflow design, assistants deployed inside real teams, automation built and maintained, generative imagery taken to a finished deliverable, and the governance conversations that follow. We are deliberate about credentials here. There is no independent, universally recognised certification for generative AI practice in the way there is for Adobe software, so we do not display one. What we require instead is evidence: work that shipped, tools used in production rather than demonstrated once, and the ability to say clearly where a model is unreliable. An instructor who cannot show you a failure case is not ready to teach this material.

Because the tools change between cohorts, the AI faculty carry an obligation the Adobe faculty do not: every course is re-checked against the current versions of the products it teaches before each scheduled run, and anything that has moved is corrected in the slides, the exercise files and the workbook. Classes are staffed one instructor per cohort, named in your joining instructions, with a second instructor assisting on large private groups and on hands-on build sessions where people need help at their own screen. A new instructor teaches the syllabus under observation before running it alone, and a substitute teaches the same syllabus from the same materials.

What learners say

No reviews yet. This course is newly published, and we would rather show you nothing than show you something we wrote ourselves. Reviews appear here as learners leave them.

Questions people ask

Do I need my own laptop, and is any software included?
You work on your own machine whether you join live online or come to the classroom in Colombo, so the project, presets and prompt log stay with you. No subscription is included in the fee. You need Premiere Pro installed and signed in, headphones, and enough free disk space for the media pack, which we send with the joining instructions along with a setup note.
Which AI tools do I need accounts for, and do they cost extra?
The Adobe features used on day one and Generative Extend are covered by a Creative Cloud subscription, though generative features draw on Adobe's generative credit allowance and what you get depends on your plan. Some generated-shot and synthetic-voice exercises use third-party tools on free or trial tiers; where a paid tier is needed, the instructor demonstrates and you complete the equivalent task in a tool you do have. We do not resell tool access.
How good is the Sinhala and Tamil output really?
Honestly, weaker than English, and the class tests it rather than assuming. Transcription of Sri Lankan English is usually workable with correction; Sinhala and Tamil transcription, subtitling and dubbing vary considerably by tool and by speaker. You will run the same clip through more than one tool and judge whether the result is deliverable, needs a human pass, or should not be attempted for that client.
Do I need to be a Premiere Pro editor already?
You need to be comfortable editing somewhere: importing media, cutting on a timeline and exporting. The Adobe modules are taught in Premiere Pro, so an editor from Final Cut or DaVinci Resolve will follow the concepts but should expect to spend some time on unfamiliar menus. If you have never edited at all, take Premiere Pro Level 1 first.
Do you issue a certificate, and is this an Adobe certification?
You receive a MyLearnPlus certificate of completion, which records the training you attended. It is not an Adobe credential. Adobe Certified Professional exams are delivered through Certiport and include Premiere Pro and After Effects; if you want that exam, our Premiere Pro courses are the ones that prepare you for it.
What if I miss a day?
Both days are recorded and available to you for twelve months, and you keep the media pack so you can work through the module you missed. Live bookings also include one free repeat of the same class, on the terms shown on the booking page for each date. These tools change quickly, so a later run is usually worth sitting anyway.
Can my employer be invoiced, and can you run this in-house?
Yes to both. We invoice organisations against a purchase order, in LKR for Sri Lankan companies and in USD internationally. A private run uses your own footage, brand and delivery specifications, and the final module can be adapted to produce a draft disclosure policy for AI-assisted video and synthetic voice.
